New Computer

It's time to buy a new computer, I've been running a Lenovo T14s AMD (Gen1) for 4 years now, very happy with it, everything worked out of the box with Arch Linux.

But now it's time to but a new and of course I've been following https://frame.work so the choice landed on a Framework 13".

Specs:

And with the Orange bezel, because this is my work computer and the product color is orange so matching that would be fun. Turned out it wasn't so fun because the orange is quite intense and I use only dark mode to the contrast is big.

Besides the bezel, it took some time getting use to the new format of the display, where the Lenovo was wide screen, like most laptops, Framework 13" is not, it's has an aspect ratio of 3:2. Not saying it's bad it just takes some getting used to.

The speakers and webcamera is great, getting to pick which ports to have on the computer is a big plus and really easy to swap them. I have my screen connected using USB-C and then have all stuff connected to the screen and have had no problems with that setup, it even charges over the same cable.

Two things that bothers me: The microfon is really bad, so bad I cannot use it and have not bought a separate mic. I'm thinking I should report this to them. The fans spin up to 100% when in Google Meet in Firefox, but this can also be a setting. I can force the fans down but that also increases the temperature on the computer.
